anonymous

"For most of history,
Anonymous was a woman."
- Virginia Woolf

This quote reminds us of the unknown women throughout time who have made significant contributions but whose names and identities have been diminished, erased, and forgotten. This quote reminds us to remember and recognize. To be seen was to be unseen.  I explored this idea in a generative art project using my own photographs of nature juxtaposed with domestic wallpaper patterns thru the silhoutte of an anonymous female. I pair every image with a unique quote from a woman author.

anonymous is a project exploring femininity, nature, and domesticity.

dreams. fragments. ideals. stories. emotions. images. projections. time travel. portals. therapy. consciousness. the domestic. spaces clothed in wallpaper. thru the portals silhouettes of yesterday, today and tomorrow. years of quick glances and long held looks.
